Fandom: One Piece
Author: Danyella Skyler Silverfire
Website: Livejournal, or Fanfiction.Net
Rating: G
Genre(s): General
Pairing(s): Paulie & Blackjack
Summary: Paulie seems to have three constants in his life: Ships, cats, and killers. He doesn't seem to be able to rid himself of any of them. Or the World Government either for that matter.
Prompt: 70. Storm
Beta:
Warnings: Okay there are a couple of original characters in this, one being the tiger Blackjack, the other is a woman named Iria that acts like a demented sister to Paulie. There will be no Paulie/Iria.
Disclaimer: Checks reality meter (It's remarkably Magic Eight Ball shaped). Do I own One Piece? Nope still the right reality. Go eat a tuna sandwich instead. Damn.
Author's Note: I've decided to try and do a 100 Prompts thingy. It seems like a good way to jump around with this thing. They're Paulie centric, with the occasional Lucci/Paulie ones depending on placement.

Flash Floods
Paulie slammed the door shut behind him, cutting off the wind and rain that had followed him and Blackjack into the lobby of the Tower of Justice. "Shit! It's coming down in sheets out there!" Paulie growled as he lifted his goggles back to their usual position.
Blackjack grunted in agreement as she rubbed her head against his arm impatiently.
"Right, right, I got it." Reaching down he pushed the goggles that she was wearing back, to where they could rest over the leather of her collar again. "Better?"
Blackjack rumbled an affirmative before setting about getting the water out of her fur, and consequently, over everything around her. Except for Paulie, who had ducked behind a pillar, knowing what she would do.
"Paulie-san? Are you okay?" a Marine asked as he ran up.
"I'm fine. We were down helping put out that fire near the park when you guys called me." Paulie grunted in disgust as he tried to get more water off himself. "What did you need?"
"Fire?" The Marine gave him a surprised look.
"Yeah. It's taken care of. Problem?" Paulie gave the Marine a withering look. He hated dealing with these people. Especially here.
"I-if you'll come this way, they're waiting for you."
Annoyed, but resigned to not being able to dry off, Paulie and Blackjack followed the Marine through the halls. The three of them eventually came to a stop in front of a door guarded by Blueno's large form.
"You're late," Blueno calmly pointed out.
"Yup, I blew up this fucking storm, and lit a building on fire via a lightning strike, just to make you assholes wait on me," Paulie snapped back.
Not saying anything, the black-clad man just opened the door, letting shipwright and tiger in to their latest meeting with the World Government.
